The Australian Youth Forum (AYF) is an exciting initiative which enables young Australians to discuss important issues with the Australian Government. The establishment of the AYF shows that the government values the voices and views of young Australians, and their creativity, unique perspectives and capacity to contribute to public debate.

The Australian Government is more than politicians, political parties, policy and public servants; it is a complex organisation of departments and individuals that help shape Australia as a nation and the best part about it is that you decide who’s got the top job.
Since the Government was elected we have been getting on with the job of providing young Australians with the opportunity to contribute to the direction of our nation on a scale never seen before.
We are committed to actively seeking out the views of young Australians on the things that matter to you, as well as highlighting information about policies and services relevant to your lives.
In support of this commitment the Government has invested $8 million to establish the Australian Youth Forum (AYF) as the key avenue to engage young Australians across the country on their own turf. Online, the AYF site provides the opportunity for young Australians to speak to the Government – and each other – about the important issues facing them, their communities and the nation.
We have also established the Office for Youth which works for and with young people to identify and respond to the issues across Government that are important to you.
So if you’re interested in finding out more about what it is that the Australian Government does or the services and support that are on offer simply follow the links; there are a variety of sites where you can share your stories, and ideas as well as the opportunity to have your voice heard...
We want to hear from you so don’t be shy, get involved and help shape your nation.
